Hi Everyone!
'Mashup' is one of the new
concepts that I encountered in web2.0 tools. It seemed a strange word the first
time I read it.
After investigation of some
examples of 'mashing up' through YouTube, I understand what it means and come
across a mashup called Google Maps/Google News mashup. It allows users to do
search Google news all over the world around location. After clicking a
specific place on the map, you can see a list of news titles about this
location, then users need to choose one of these news title to allow users to
find YouTube videos about the title.
This tool is considered convenient
for users in terms of ease to use and provides news instantly. Indeed, using multimedia location- based news
is a novel idea.
NaturalMash Demo - Google Maps/Google News mashup
Google News mashup collects news
from various sources. It is amazing to choose news in the location you want,
furthermore, users could get You tube videos and tweets related to the news
that they find.
In this post I add a YouTube clip
about mashup which is considered a new goal that is not listed in my learning
goals.
Hi Nouf, sounds like a good mashup to use, especially if you are interested in world wide news! :)
